Valeriia Shikhirina

I am Valeriia Shikhirina, a family psychologist and psychological counsellor. I work online with individuals and couples.

I see the psychology of relationships as a way to understand more deeply the feelings, needs, expectations and patterns of behaviour that shape our connections with other people.

It matters to me to take into account a person's own experience, the particulars of their relationships and the circumstances that influence how they perceive what is happening.

Interests

What I focus on

My interest lies in how relationships take shape, why recurring difficulties arise in communication, and how understanding our own feelings, needs and personal boundaries helps us understand ourselves and others better.

The main areas of my interest are the psychology of romantic relationships, communication between partners, emotional awareness and self-discovery.
